Sail Date: May 2018
Cabin: Aqua Class

We picked this cruise for 2 reasons. First, we really enjoyed our first Celebrity Cruise on the Solstice (Alaska-Tracy Arm Fjord) in 2017, after 4 prior cruises on different lines. Second, we liked the itinerary with 10 nights and only 2 days at sea.

Ship: We were apprehensive that this older Infinity might be disappointing. However, we found this "Solsticized" ship to actually be nicer than the Solstice (other than the Persian Garden).

Embarkation: Crazy easy; we got to SD cruise terminal at 11a, earlier than the official 11:30 "start" time. SD port terminal very efficient. Security took 5 minutes. 0 wait time to check in with Celebrity in our AquaClass section, and the other levels looked like no more than 15-20 minutes at worst. Bottom line, we were sitting on deck 12 about 20 minutes after the Uber dropped us off at the ship terminal. (Note, we were the only ship at the SD cruise port on our departure date.)

Cabin Review

Aqua Class

Cabin A1

We were apprehensive b/c we'd been in a Sky Suite on the Solstice. But even though it was a little smaller it was fine, even for a 10 day vs. our prior 7 day. Everything in good shape, didn't experience "threadbare" like comments in other reviews. Nice shower/glass doors and the bathroom was compact but laid out well. Highly recommend the 11th deck AQ cabins. It's like having your own convenient secret mini-deck of cabins. Just 1 flight up from the Oceanview Cafe & Bar, Pool Grill, etc. so we could hop down for snacks, cocktails, whatever. Close to aft elevators, a straight shot down to Blu & the MDR, Main thing was we avoided being under the Oceanview Cafe and related noise like we had on our prior cruise (Solstice Sky Suite cabins beware). It was very quiet. Didn't hear anything from the Rooftop Terrace movies above as reported elsewhere. Highly recommend starboard side for this cruise b/c you get all the views in port. (SF we had perfect shot of the GG Bridge, Alcatraz and Coit Tower from the veranda.)
