Our 4th NCL cruise and the first with problems which left a bad taste and leave me thinking time to try a new cruiseline.
Firstly, Guest Services had a problem with verifying my credit card. And dealt with it by blocking my account until it was sorted. Made it a pain to even get a drink...even though I had the beverage package!
I was charged for items I had pre-paid (speciality dining) and not given credit for that was part of my package (discount on shore excursions / onboard credits). Despite providing evidence, I got very patronizing and stock answers from guest services...in effect I must be wrong, NCL is never wrong. What happened to the customer is always right?!
Cabin was to be expected...nothing much to say either way, met expectations and our steward did an amazing job.
Beautiful and Sunnmore is also worth a visit - really easy to get to by bus.
A trip to Sumburgh Head to see the puffins is a must!
We hired a car with Ken's garages and drove ourselves around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Fort Augustus, the Dalmore distillery and the Black Isle...Cromarty was a such a cute seaside town to finish our tour. We packed so much in and it was nice to do it at our own pace and together, not on a coach being herded around.
It was my 8th time to Edinburgh and so I wasn't too excited about this one...but when the sun is shining, it's such a lovely city to just wander around. The location at Newhaven was really easy to get into the city by public bus, and I got to see Leith and some of the suburbs on the way in which I normally miss by coming from the airport. It's a tender port though which is a bit of a pain.
