We were on the inaugural Alaska cruise for the brand-new Norwegian Bliss, and I was extremely impressed. It was a fun, relaxing, luxurious seven days with a few minor -- an one not-so-minor -- downsides.
The ship itself is gorgeous. Of course, being a new ship, everything felt polished and fresh, but the design of the ship is the real star. Cabins were luxurious and relatively large, and with great interior decoration. The balcony was larger than expected and comfortable. The only minus for the cabin the the rock-hard sleeper sofa.
Interior spaces are beautiful. The Observation Lounge on 15 is a terrific large space, with a great bar and luxurious dark hues. The Manhattan Room draws on an elegant art-deco (or art moderne?) theme, and each bar and restaurant has its own well-crafted style.
Delightful cabin, with great design. Larger balconies than most other comparable ships. Well-designed bathrooms. Sleeper sofa was hard as a rock.
