Sail Date: Apr 2018

Pre: We were a group of 12 ladies and flew into Ft. Lauderdale a day early and stayed at the Embassy Suites. Ages ranged from 21-54. We had a ball hanging out in Florida. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the airport and to the port for $9 per person.

Embarkation: You now have appointments in which to show up at the port which makes it a bit easier getting on the ship, even though there is still a good amount of people already there and still arriving. On the day we sailed one of the gangways was broken and the one being used was weight restricted, so it took us a little longer getting on, but hey...it's vacation, so it as fine.

Ship: This ship is beautiful. Out of our group of 12, 6 had never cruised before. This was my 5th cruise, 3rd on RCCL....having cruised already on Monarch of the Seas (now decomissioned) & Allure of the Seas. I could see some similarities in Harmony and Allure, but this ship has so much that is also different. It's just hard to explain. Never felt crowded. Lots of room for everyone.

Cabin Review

Cabin Family Interior Room For 6

Having previously stayed in a Promenade Cabin with 5 on the Allure, we were in search or more space. This room was perfect for 6 of us and we had another cabin, same category right next door in 11149 that also held 6. We are all adults and had plenty of space for clothing, shoes, accessories, etc., it never felt crowded.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Pre-cruise stay at Embassy Suites. Easy 5min shuttle from hotel to port. You now have appointments in which to show up at the port which makes it a bit easier getting on the ship, even though there is still a good amount of people already there and still arriving. On the day we sailed one of the gangways was broken and the one being used was weight restricted, so it took us a little longer getting on, but hey...it's vacation, so it as fine.

Labadee

This is the private island and it has lots to do and plenty of beaches. We chose to take the tram to Columbus Beach and had lunch and drinks and lounged around. Yes, there are vendors who try to get your attention to ask you to buy items, but either you want to buy something, so you go and shop (we bought some very nice items) or either you don't and simply tell them no.
