I post a review about Norwegians Epic ship being an "Epic Failure" back in December and wanted to let everyone know that that we gave Norwegian another try, and boy are we glade we did. The Getaway and its crew are hands down the most fun and enjoyable crew on the oceans/ seas today! From the very start at the Port in Miami to the return in Miami we were constantly greeted with smiles and well wishes, nothing like what we had experienced on the Epic. We had booked an inside stateroom and place a bid on a balcony. The bid was accepted and received an aft-balcony. It had 175ft indoor living space and another 154ft of balcony; it was huge!! Our steward was fantastic, he was easy to speak with and kept everything tip top. I can not put into words how relieved that my wife and myself were during and after the cruise. It's amazing the difference between the two experiences. There was enough entertainment to keep anybody active. This was our 4th cruise with Norwegian and other than the Alaska cruise, our second best. We are already looking at 3 different possibilities, 1. Transatlantic 2. Panama Cannel 3. Southern Caribbean. Some suggestion: 1. Dinning; they have 3 main dinning areas, which have the exactly the same menu (boring). Change the menus up and if you have a dress policy inforce it, there is nothing worse than dressing business casual and have someone walk in wearing swim trunks and flip flops. 2. Drop the Costa May MX stop, really nothing there, a few shop and a swimming pool; you can get that on the ship. Last thing, Thank you so much Norwegian for a fantastic cruise!!!!

Port Reviews

Roatan

You don't read or hear about Pristine Bay so do some research (Great golf Course!!). The island is very poor so you should expect the locals to try to some under handed tactics. We made a deal on the cab ride, (I traveled a lot while in the Air Force and usually know when my chain is being pulled) he proceeded to try and get one of his friends in the cab to be a translator. It didn't work but beware. The golf course was beautiful, if you golf don't pass up the opportunity. They had a lot of cool trinket store in port as do most stops.

Cozumel

This was our second trip into Cozumel and again I setup my own golf tee time and price. The ship wanted $189, I got it for $89 and included clubs, cart, and warm up balls. I wound not recommend playing the Country Club; May - August. The mosquitoes were as large as black birds and swarmed every time we stop to hit the ball. First time I played it, it as in December and had no problems with the mosquitoes. I would recommend eating at Tacos and Tequila there in the port area. Really good
