Every couple of years we do a longer cruise as our getaway. This year it was the back to back reposition and Greek Isles cruise from May 6 to May 30. The cruise itinerary was fantastic and every stop was a great experience. Thanks Royal.
Just one thing wrong. And it was a surprise. The food was way below par. For the past couple of years I have noticed a deterioration in the quality of the food both in preparation and food quality selection. The service has remained very good. The problem is that the service staff can't correct food quality with no alternatives.
Example: On four occasions in the dining room, medium rare meat was delivered medium well. Upon questioning the waiter I was told on every occasion that was the best he could do. Preparation problem.

Great cabin but the view forward was impeded by the stateroom ahead of us which begins the bulge in the ship. Next time I would attempt to book a room in front of the bulge. Also, choose a cabin on the other side of the ship. this captain docks the ship with the best views on the other side, almost exclusively on this back to back 24 days cruise.

The walled town is one of the great walking sites of the Greece Islands. don't miss a few hours in the Plaka. Not and adventure, but for we old travellers who have 'been there,done that', this is just the ticket for a great relaxing day!
