Overall, a typically wonderful Celebrity cruise. Have sailed with Celebrity many times in the past and become used to the quality service throughout the journey. This time, sailed concierge class and was disappointed in the cabin service compared to previous experiences. Cabin steward shared that this was his first cruise and he was still in training, so I tried to be understanding. Not sure why Celebrity signed him to the concierge level without any mentor. Multiple problems throughout the cruise, none that were major, but over an 8-day cruise, the little things add up (i.e. no towels, no ice, always seemed to be in room when we needed access, etc) Dining attendant was fantastic which says a lot since we have had some very good servers in the past. Unfortunately, the sommelier not so good. After he recommended a wine we should try, found out that we owed $176.00 because he failed to tell he was doing the bottle instead of a glass and failed to share that there would be a cost above our usual premium package allowance. Two nights later, we dropped off a wine 2 hours before our dining time to be decanted and were promised it would be. When we arrived at dinner, it was still in the bottle and had not been opened.

This was a cruise that was supposed to stop at Punta Cana. Like others, we never made it because the swells were too large for the tenders. Huge disappointment not just because we missed D.R. but it resulted in another back-to-back sea day experience. We were the only boat scheduled to be in Punta Cana for the whole month of May. Maybe Celebrity should appreciate why other lines don't go there?
