we chose this cruise as a New ship cruise. we expected some hiccups, they didn't happen. the ship had that new smell to it. pretty décor. lots of art and sculptures. we had a central park balcony. (loved opening the balcony doors and had music floating into the room= with the light breeze) the heavy itinerary on this route didn't leave much time to explore the ship in full. which is why we will be booking another once its in Miami. if it hadn't been for our friends who cruise Royal all the time. we wouldn't have known we had to pre-book reservations for all the shows and dinner times. this allowed us to plan to see all the shows and arrange dinner around our excursion returns to the ship. we had the one sea day, which was just as busy since we did the zip line, all three waterslides, hot tubs, two of the swimming pools, flow rider. Merry go round, mini golf. the abyss slide (which isn't that fast but very dark) LOVE the roaming piano guy... never knew where he would show up; my favorite was riding the elevator up and down while singing piano man, just pop up entertainment surprise. the service team; impressive... our dinning room team made us feel like family. we chose to keep the same table for the same server team. the 2 nights that we had later seating we had to have a different table and team. they still checked in with us at our alternate table. they rocked. John & Pedro thanks. as I noted heavy ports stops. of course Italy was awesome. our room stewardess, Maggie. was on top of it. she came and introduced herself, did we have any questions or special requests.. we had fresh ice every day. this cruise per day was higher than we usually plan to pay. and with all the additional pay amenities (room service & items etc.) coffees at the park café. so many upcharge restaurants kind of glad we didn't have extra time.

1st Royal cruise NOT going to be a last

Cabin Review

Central Park View Balcony
Cabin 2J 10209
room layout; spacious, and loved the split closet.. beds were high enough with plenty of space to store all our empty luggage. didn't locate the blow dryer till the second day... check the drawer above the refrigerator. only electric in the bathroom is above the shelves and European plug.
