This was my 13th cruise overall, 7th with Royal Caribbean, 3rd in a row on an Oasis-class vessel. Once again Royal Caribbean delivered another unforgettable cruising experience. The sports staff was great and hence my presence on the sports deck was frequent. The food was fantastic especially at Chops Grille. We only ate at one specialty restaurant. The service in the main dining room was good except for the first day when it was slow. I can understand why that happened. The waiting staff was attentive in the main dining room and in Chops, not so much in the Windjammer. The musicians and comedians were very entertaining. The new attractions such as the perfect storm (water slides) and the ultimate abyss (big dry slide) were nice additions. My biggest criticism is that because I was 20 and not traveling with a significant other, it was difficult for my friend and I to meet people our age. Royal Caribbean needs to put on events for ages 18-20 that are actually hosted. I’m not sure of the legality of this, but I would urge them to consider a policy change that allows 18-20 year olds to consume alcoholic beverages with restrictions in international waters. I just felt left out of the adult crowds for it. My last suggestion would be to dumb down the casino some. I wanted to gamble (knowing I would lose but it’s fun) but I didn’t do much because I wasn’t entirely sure how all the games worked. They should have like pamphlets or something with game rules and instructions for new gamblers. Doesn’t everyone start at the bottom? All in all, it was another fantastic vacation and I look forward to sailing again with Royal Caribbean in the next 1-3 years.
I liked the new stateroom design. Obviously it wasn’t very spacious but there was plenty of room for clothing storage. The decor was nice too.
