After sailing NCL before we went with very low expectations of the ship and are glad we did..........The Pride is old and worn out, I don't honestly know what kind of a refurbishment they could do to make her a spectacular ship. Embarkation went smoothly but things went downhill from there, went to the main dining room for lunch which was mediocre at best. When the announcement was made that the cabins were ready, I can't begin to tell you the disappointment. It was truly not much bigger than a size 7 shoe box, I never thought that any bathroom could be smaller than those on the Sun but alas it was, most home closets are bigger. We were in an aft balcony and I am not kidding when I say the balcony was bigger than the cabin! After several cruises we knew better than to rely on the main dining rooms for dinner so booked mostly specialty, La Cucina the first night was better than on some of their other ships however not great, Le Bistro was the worst service we received on the ship however the food was edible. We ended up at Cagney's 3 nights as the service and the food was very good, we tried East meets West and were pleasantly surprised, Cadillac Dinner was a joke! Food was awful, almost as bad as the service. We did try the buffet one day for lunch and the food rubbery, not a good selection and the seating is an abomination. The lobby bar for coffee's was great, our steward was wonderful, very attentive and always pleasant, because of NCL's corporate offices we had the pleasure of meeting the Hotel director and Customer Service Director who were truly the high point of our ship board experience. The itinerary was fantastic! We were the last cruise to port at Hilo due to the Volcano so we felt very lucky, there is no other cruise line that does the Hawaiian Islands exclusively so for that reason we chose to go NCL, however NEVER AGAIN.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Large Balcony

Cabin B1

TINY! smaller that any cabin aboard any other ship. Closets are not adequate for one person let alone two. Beds are so uncomfortable, only a cot frame not a real bed frame and mattress. Two small drawers for storage, only one person could go between the wall and bed at a time. Bathrooms a joke, old, tired and extremely sub par, the only good thing was the showers water pressure is outstanding!
