This is the only ship that cruises between the Hawaiian Islands....This was my first cruise..and I was surprised by the nickel and diming for everything that NCL charged...Plus they made a change to our cruise schedule due to the Volcano on the big Island..We lost 2 days on the big island..(not NCL's fault) so we stayed in Oahu an extra day..and had an extra day in Maui..problem was I booked all of my excursions through NCL...the extra day in Oahu meant everything was now a day later...so basically I had NO IDEA if my 4 excursions were still booked..valid...rescheduled...couldn't find out any info until we boarded ship...(NCL shore excursion help line NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!) When we boarded the line to get to excursion desk was 4 deep..we waited over an hour and a half...stressful as heck..not what you are looking for in a vacation...I was able to rebook 3 of 4 excursions...but instead of getting a refund for 4th excursion...they gave me a ship credit...that if I didn't use during cruise I would get a refund check...mailed to me after cruise.
Check your statement...they don't tell you that they charge you $16 a day ..per person in room.. service charge ..when I asked what this was for I was told this was gratuities for srvers...cabin tendants etc....well had I known that I wouldn't have been tipping as I ordered things... I knew all restaraunts weren't free..but was surprised at the number of one's that charged..I knew alcohol was going to be expensive..but bottled water???? One of the FREE restaraunts charged $7 for a milkshake!?!? (Felt nickel and dimed) Felt that communication, directions regarding excursions...disembarking...billing...was lacking to say the least. Cabin was nice...and service by crew members was very good.
