It was a predictably chaotic embarkation process (too many people in too small a space and absolutely no benefit to being a Gold Latitudes member, or even a Platinum one as far as I could determine). It was a surprisingly chaotic debarkation process as well, considering that we'd paid for ship's transportation to the airport that was intended to make things easy but it was anything but.

But between those two events we don't have much to complain about and a lot of things to appreciate about our week on the Escape, beginning with a glorious sail-away past the Freedom Tower and the Statue of Liberty which we enjoyed after checking into our "spacious" mini suite which had more than enough room for us for a seven-day cruise with the nicest bathroom configuration we've encountered on any NCL ship so far.

Specialty dining in Cagneys, Le Bistro, Moderno, and La Cucina (three in our dining package and one using some of our OBC) was as great as we have found it on any cruise. Prime Rib at O'Sheehans was great as was one of our two nights in the MDR. The other one there was only so-so, but one bad night out of seven isn't worth complaining about. Breakfasts at Taste and Savor were a wondrous departure from the Garden Cafe which we pretty much avoided all week after seeing the mob-scene there on embarkation day. We did eat lunch there a couple of times...avoiding peak hours.

Mid-ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Well arranged space. Easy access to closet. Plenty of shelves for a weeks worth of closing for two. Bathroom was best we've had on any NCL ship.
