What an amazing itinerary! The big cities: London, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Dubin, Belfast...; but also the beautiful coasts and countryside: Loch Ness, Leeds Castle, Canterbury, the Orkney Islands, the Shetland Islands... Best way to get a perfect sampling of the UK IMHO. And as a bonus, you end your trip in Bergen, Norway. I had never been (and thought I'd never be) to Scandinavia. Nice that everyone is so friendly and speaks fluent English. Everywhere felt very safe, even the cities. Mostly used the British pound sterling (the Euro in Ireland and the Krone in Norway) so money was easy. Delicious Fish & Chips everywhere. Meat pies. Guinness, Scotch abound. Wonderful Celtic/Scottish music; bagpipe playing. Beatles in Liverpool (and London if you want to do Abbey Road). We did a combination of included tours, Viking pay tours, and stuff on our own. Nice mix. Service on Viking is impeccable and the food is delicious so you "come home" every night to a luxury floating hotel. Highly recommend!
We had been in this cabin category for Viking Ocean's Mediterranean Odyssey so we already knew it was a great cabin. Love the veranda, the bed & pillows are more comfortable than what I have at home! heated bathroom floor (a real treat if it's chilly), robes, slippers, umbrella, binoculars....everything you need and more
We visited the Kilmaingaol (old jail) and the Guinness Storehouse on our own as well as the Templar Bar/area. Loved everything!
We did a Viking tour with a coastal hike. Then went into town on our own and saw a beautiful cathedral made of sandstone.
