I am a Platinum member and have done this particular itinerary (or a variation of it) three times. As the title of my review indicates, the trip was very good overall. However, there were details that had to be rectified as the trip progressed. There were three areas that we had to bring to Norwegian's attention. 1) Our mini-suite was situated on Deck 9, directly above the designated smoking section on Deck 8. This situation made our balcony unusable as whenever we opened the balcony door, cigar and cigarette smoke wafted up into our cabin--very unpleasant. After numerous complaints, six days into the cruise (without being able to enjoy our balcony) we were finally given another mini-suite out of the range of the smoking area. Norwegian should do a much better job of isolating smoking sections. 2) The Atrium bar tender made a very inappropriate, disrespectful, discriminatory (homophobic) comment to us (he made an assumption and thought it was funny--it was NOT); this was totally unacceptable. We reported it to management, but no one ever got back to us about it. 3) We had one excursion (Stockholm) for which the guide was totally unprepared: marginal English (he didn't know left from right!), incorrect information, no leadership or sense of time management, etc. Norwegian rectified this situation completely to our satisfaction. In fact, we were so pleased with how the Shore Excursion agent (Oskars) handled and rectified the problem, we left the cruise feeling good in spite of the other issues. I might add that the guide in St. Petersburg (Natalya) was fabulous--beyond all expectations. Another problem had to do with the presentations on the cities visited; they were held in the Atrium. This is really horrible location because there is totally inadequate seating, with hundreds of people forced to stand, and the noise and loud talking from the bar and surrounding shops made it very difficult to hear the presenter. These presentations should be given in the comfort of the theatre.
