Even more dirt and soot on balcony table found in the morning.

Grand Prix experience for a special birthday. Very friendly and helpful crew, with the exception of the Guest Relations desk and the Concierge, who could not or would not sort out a problem with thick black sooty particles all over our balcony for which we had paid an extra fare. This problem was not limited to us alone, the Owner's Suite which was next to ours also had a similar problem, which was admitted by the Cruise Director as being a difficulty experienced before in certain weather conditions. Interestingly, they were offered a substantial discount on their fare! Our only recompense was a possible move of accommodation, but not at the same standard, which we declined. So no breakfasts on the balcony.

The food in the standard dining room was of a very high standard, though the standard wines offered were not too good, mostly they were not from France or Italy, the area in which we were sailing! Unfortunately we were not able to book reasonable times to eat in either of the speciality restaurants, either very early or very late. We also prefer to cruise with a line that includes all standard of drink. Having to pay a supplement, and prove it with a card for every drink, was somehow demeaning. Almost felt as though you were trying to cheat the system.

Being a smaller ship, we didn't expect too much from the entertainment. They tried, but sadly not wonderfully well. However the pianist in the lounge before evening meal was good but sadly not on later after dinner.

Cabin Review

Club Deluxe Veranda Stateroom

Cabin VX

Quite a small cabin, difficult to walk around the end of the bed and avoid the wall mounted television. Tiny shower room, more like being in a mobile home. Balcony was found to be covered in sooty deposits every morning, on the table, chairs, rails and deck, impossible to use until cleaned. Absolutely useless for breakfasts.
