We chose this cruise because of the itennarry. Althought we've been to St. Thomas during previous administration we wanted to share this together.

We flew in from IAH via CLT to SJU the day of, not to bad since points paid the trip. All connections were on time. We arrived at SJU and took a taxi ($24)., twenty minutes later at the terminal. A porter met us, took our bags and off we went. Embarkation was a breeze, being priority helps I'm sure.

Muster was at 9:00 pm, it is in English and Spanish. The drill was on time and surprisingly fast, 30 minutes or so, maybe we got lucky. It was pretty cool to sail that late at night seeing the lights of the harbor fade in distance.

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

V17 is listed as a JS, however it is the same size as balcony rooms on Carnival's larger ships. It will get you priority and suite privileges. Our room steward, Mr. G., was excellent, always saw him in the hall making sure all was OK. The only problem with the room, and this is physical plant problem is the a/c had a hard time keeping up with the warm/hot outside temps. Other than that it was a great location for us. BTW, if you are a smoker, the smoking section is deck 11 forward starboard. It is covered and just steps away from the V-Suites. No fear smoke does not enter the cabin area.
