  3. Ruby Princess
We chose Ruby Princess because of its many amenities, size and price, and excellent choices for excursions. Also we wanted to go to Glacier Bay National Park and other Alaska cities. Most important to us was Skagway for the train and Ketchikan for native culture and totems. Left Seattle on a mostly sunny day, some fog and rain in Juneau, but did the Mendenhall Glacier and Nugget Falls in just a light mist. Beautiful days in Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan. Our cabin steward was Raul and he was excellent. Took care of us quite well, kept room in ship shape condition. Ship entertainment was good with a very funny comedian, excellent musical and dance programs, magic show was good, nature programs with Mike were superb. Food in the cafe was inconsistent. Some meals very good, others not so much. Pizza and ice cream mostly good. INternational Cafe has some excellent dessert choices. Ship customer service desk was always friendly and solved any minor problems that arose. Although there were over 3,000 passengers on board a full ship, there were plenty of places to find solitude. Promenade deck was many times quiet place to sit and watch the islands and otters go by. Too cold for swimming in pool but movies were excellent outside and in the theatre. Plenty of classy bars and grills to enjoy entertainment and a drink. Several singers were excellent. The selling of jewelry and other items on ship was sometimes overdone, but just throw away the ads and move on. Did not experience any pressure selling on the decks or aisles. Casino had lots of games and slots. First night, a lady won $500 which made her day. Overall, we enjoyed our first cruise and would recommend the Ruby for an Alaska adventure

Cabin Review

Interior
Cabin IE B325
We found the interior cabin had enough room for two adults. Mirrors on the walls produced a reflection that lent itself to looking larger. Plenty of space for four suitcases, Drawers for each bed, shelving was adequate. Bathroom large enough for our needs. Shower had shampoo and soap dispensers and glasses, soap provided on the counters. TV had shows, news, information about ship activities, on board camera facing front of ship and a channel with information re; our position and weather. Attendant checked our room at least twice a day and was very personable. Raul was a gem. This room was quiet and situated mid way between central and forward elevators. Each day you receive Princess Patter which news and itineraries for each day's activities.

Our pedicab driver was Tina. An excellent 2 and half hour tour of the city, parks, residential historical homes and government buildings. Highly recommended for the short time we are in Victoria
