Wanted to go on a big ship and always liked Royal Caribbean. First 2 days on board the main upper deck dining room they only opened one side of the entire dining room (1/2). I asked a dining staff officer, he said they were getting ready for lunch. OK, so why was the same side closed during lunch. They lied and thought no one would notice. It gave me the impression of a lazy and uncaring dining room staff starting with the officers and ending with the waiters! Very dishonest and lazy staff. We had to wait in line daily to get into the top deck dining facility for breakfast and lunch. The tables were almost always dirty. I did not see the staff cleaning the tables expeditiously so others can use the table. If you wanted to sit down you had to clean your own table. Again, gave the impression of a lazy and uncaring staff.
One night I went to the main dining room on the 4th floor and they treated my wife and I as if was not welcomed, we were a burden. First, they had us wait for a table than said we had to go to the 6th floor dining room for a table. I understand this is a busy time but no excuse for making me and my wife feel ignored and unwelcomed. The waiters need to be more decent and polite. No one came to introduce themselves as our waiter. I had to stop a waiter to get their attention for anything. Each time I needed anything I had to stop a waiter. Then they acted like we were bothering them. One female waiter even was very rude when I asked for more melted butter for the lobster tail. I was so upset when we left there that I told another officer outside the mess about this and nothing happened. I also went to the front customer service desk and complained again. The next day after we came back to our room there was a plate of strawberries covered with chocolate with a business card. No explanation or apologies? By the way, they strawberries were not good. What about a hand-written note from the head waiter saying he was sorry! Oh, I know, he was too busy.
On another night, I witnessed an older woman being ignored also. She was asking for a smaller spoon for the small child she was with and the waiter just blew her off. She could not leave the child alone at the table to go find the spoon. However, the waiter didn’t care, he walked away. If he did not understand English, he should have asked another waiter for help. I had to go and find a small spoon and give it to the older lady. I guess I should be paid for my service. I did his job.
Cabin was like any other ship. No different. However the sink counter was broken.
Terrible port to embark and disembark. Very disorganized in every aspect.
Have been there about 3 times. This time is was very expensive. A plate we purchased 5 years ago we paid $40.00 now they wanted $250.00.
Small port area but had several shops. some good deals.
Same here, been here 5 years ago and now it is very expensive...
