I chose this Ship mainly because of the ship for our kids (ages 13 and 10) but because of the route and islands we would be going to visit. (St. Martin, Puerto Rico and Haiti) Embarking went smoothly, we only sat in the waiting area for half an hour or so, but it was nice, got to meet other people who were going on the ship, the room was full of excitement so the wait was not bad at all. De-embarking was just as smooth, walked right to our bags and threw customs in about 15 minuets. Very organized. This was my second cruise (Princes cruise ten years ago) and the Oasis was just as nice if not nicer than the last cruise. The ship was clean, the staff was friendly, our room attendant Dwayne was outstanding. He made towel animals every night and used my wife's sun glasses as part of the prop each night. The kids really enjoyed this. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean on the sixth deck or layer as my son liked to say. The room was small but fit our needs for the week. The balcony came in handy for drying out towels and swim suites. The balcony made the room feel bigger and it was nice to have the door open at night to hear the ocean. Dining was good, did not have any bad meals. We did not do any of the formal nights, we did not feel like packing the extra cloths that is the main reason for this decision. The entertainment was good. The Las Vegas Tenors were great, and the diving show was entertaining. We saw this twice. The divers are really good and the kids in the "splash zone" got wet. So if you want to get wet sit in the splash zone. The ship has 2 flow riders that the kids really enjoyed and this is a great place to sit and watch people try to fide a boogie board and not loose a swimsuit in the process. The Zip line is also fun. The excursions were that we did from the ship were fine. Would have liked to have had more time in Puerto Rico. Labade Island was nice, but you can tell how many people are on the ship when they all come to the island at the same time. We did the Jet ski tour, this is a blast, would do it again. When we were in St. Martin we did the Soualiga Destinations Boat Tour (Captain Bob). HIGHLY recommended. speed boat and snorkeling. The tour takes you all around the island, you snorkel at two different beaches and they provide lunch. A lot of fun the best part of the cruise by far. Would do a cruise again, on this ship but may choose a ship that had some water slides for the kids sake. The kids enjoyed the pools and the hot tubs. Not sure how people give negative reviews for the cruise, I guess they are negative people and never have fun.

Cabin Review

Cabin 6234
Room was on the small size but was big enough for the 4 of us. Two adults and two kids. The couch pulled out to a bed for the kids. The balcony was very handy to dry towels and swimsuits and was nice to have the door open at night to hear the ocean.

  • Jetskiing
Highly recommend this, a lot of fun. The guide makes sure everyone is safe and gives a history and tour guide of the island and bays you are in. Very fun and very fast. Make sure if you have experience on a Jet ski to let the guide know so you do not get stuck behind someone who is afraid to go fast. Just saying.

It was raining when we arrived so could not see much of the town or go to the beach.

  • Walking Tour of Old San Juan
It was a pirate tour, designed more for the kids. Our tour guide was good, knew a lot of history about the Island. Would have been nice to spend more time to explore.

  • St. Maarten
If I could give this a Ten I would. This best part of our cruise by far. This company is family owned, they take you on a boat tour of the entire island, explaining the history of the island. Then you snorkel on two separate beaches and they provide a sandwich lunch. (the restaurant they usually go to was destroyed during the Hurricane) but this did not take away from the experience at all. The crew is very knowledgeable of the area, very safe and made sure that everyone had a good time. We parked of the end of the airport and watched a plane land at the famous airport. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
