This is only my second cruise and my first on Royal Caribbean so take that into consideration when reading this review. The ship is beautiful and quite large with a lot of modern features. Lots to do day and night. The entertainment is endless and they have variety of classes and events for all ages. The shows were good but had some strange elements in them especially Spectra. We stayed in a cabin with an obstructed view. My first cruise I had an inside cabin so the ability to go outside and enjoy the fresh air was a treat. We had a wonderful room attendant and awesome dinning room waiters. My sister and I were traveling with two other friends who had issues with their room attendant. The food itself ranged anywhere between pretty good and ok. This was a disappointment for me since I expected it to be much better than it was. I also have to say another disappointment was the cleanliness of the ship. Most of the pubic bathrooms stalls smelled like urine and the carpets in the public areas were not always clean. All the places we ate were clean so that was a plus. Also there were some deep cleaning issues in the cabin. The overall cleanliness provided by the attendant was excellent but if you looked deeper there were things that needed attention (dirty vent underneath the cabinet for example). The amount of storage in the cabin was very good. If we had put a 3rd person in the cabin with us to sleep on the couch it would have been a bit more challenging. All the ports were enjoyable and easy to get on and off the ship. We did not book any shore excursions through the cruise line. In Bermuda, we booked and took the blue taxi and had a tour around the island with a short stop in Hamilton for some shopping and a quick swim at Horseshoe Bay at the end before heading back to the ship. Our taxi driver Skip (Dennis) knew and loved his island. In Saint Martin we took a taxi to the French side to spend a couple hours on the beach and then do a little shopping back near the port before going back on the Ship. Since we didn't arrive until after 12:30 p.m. we had little time to shop after the beach because the shops closed around 5:30. In Puerto Rico we did a walking food tour which was excellent! It's called Spoon Tour and I highly recommend it if you like history and good food. In Labadee Haiti, we took advantage of the beach and enjoyed the barbecue lunch provided. All in all we had a great time on the cruise even with some of the disappointments listed.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Nice sandy beach on the French side. Taxi ride was around 25 minutes to the beach so we go to see some of the island. The deviation of the Hurricane that hit last year was still apparent but progress is being made.

Labadee

Nice beaches and a tasty lunch provided made the day a good one.
