My friend had Bermuda on her Bucket list and asked me to join them as I had been several times. We are hooked on Celebrity and wanted to show it off, they were mainly river boat cruisers. We all drove from Virginia a big plus, met at the ship and the rest was near perfect.
I was able to get a great table for 6 at early seating, food was excellent, service couldn't be better, impressive. Having given them the tips and a quick tour, we all did our own thing during the day.
First night in port, we all took the ships ferry tour to Hamilton for the evening. Fun but not a repeat for any of us. I learned for the first time that newbies were treated as VIP's, invited to a champagne welcome on the Helo. pad as we arrived in Kings Wharf. A big hit.
Great location with a larger balcony on the hump. A bit tired and will benefit from the upcoming refit.
We had been notified in advance of a Coast Guard inspection at 11 am there for congestion was a bit of a problem in the terminal.
Our Hotel pre-cruise was the Hilton Garden Inn on Staten Island, our 2nd stay there. On a busy weekend we used a Park & Stay package costing less than $200, our room, free parking and shuttle to & from the pier. (about a 25 min. trip) The driver was waiting for us upon our return even though we were about 45 min. behind normal time. Custom hall was atrocious, as little as 3 officers processing for about 2100 passengers & crew.
Highly recommend Lorenzo's restaurant, attached. Authentic Italian food, white linen service and exceptional waiters.
