Ran into some passport issues at embarkation. Carol was assigned to help us, and was very kind, but the guy who was the director, useless. He kept stopping by, saying, “ looks like you won’t be going, I’ll pull your luggage off”, not informed that our documents were on the way, then he’d duck behind a curtain and munch on a sandwich.
Anyway, got on board, really rough seas the first night. 9580 midship balcony, port side.
Pros: Nice clean ship. Very friendly staff; misleading that sounds like they have 1 staff member to each 3 passengers, but only half on duty at a time. Good daily newsletters, tv channel shows position, a bow view. Position doesn’t update acutely.
Nice small balcony, room had all you need, pretty good position on ship. Deck above the lifeboats.
All good except for port director of citizenship documentation, he needs to go.
Just walk around, avoid junk shops. Red Dog bar popular, crowded. Nice coffee shops with Wifi. Jewelry stores were aggressive.
Very scenic, but saw little wildlife in late May.
Very touristy. They kept trying to pull us into jewelry stores and that cosmetic shop for puffy eyes across from Mikes Elbow room bar, avoid that place, hard sell. Consider renting a bike or scooter, you would see more in a short time.
Only stepped off here, was a thirty min walk to town or pay for shuttle. Long walk to disembark. People seemed friendly. Busy with many ships at once. Cute seals swimming around the port.
