Alaska- The scenery was just amazing. Be prepared for rain and dress in layers.
Embarkation – Our flight arrived in Seattle at 12:45 and we purchased the Princess shuttle to the port. We only had to wait a few minutes to board the shuttle bus and once at the port, it only took us 15 minutes to check in and get on the ship. Once on board, our room was ready. Everything went very smoothly.
Ship – For the age of the ship it is well kept. Pools were closed the majority of the time because of the weather and only half of the hot tubs were open which were always full! Pizza and ice cream bar was outside which was cold.
The mini suite was very nice. It was big enough for my husband and 19 year old daughter. The pull out coach bed was not as comfy as the main bed but it was sufficient for my daughter. The closet area was large with room to dress and had a full length mirror on the closet door. The bathroom had a bath tub and also very roomy! Just a note that the balcony is not covered and the passengers above you can look onto your balcony. It was not a big deal for us. We liked having the larger cabin room!
Glacier Bay is gorgeous. They ship gets very close to the glaciers and it stops to let you look at them for some time. They do get to the glaciers early in the morning so make sure you are up and about. There are talks about the glacier on the ship along with guides to answer your questions.
Victoria is beautiful but wish we could of seen it during the day. We ported at 7:00pm in the evening so we just took a walk to downtown. It took a good 35-40 minutes to walk there from the port.
