We are experienced cruisers, but this was our first cruise on Norwegian and we believe we’ve found a new home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Star. The entire crew made us feel welcomed. George, the future cruise manager was simply outstanding. Our stateroom was great and much better than newer, larger ships. Although the buffet restaurant wasn’t the most desirable to look at, the food was really good. Every day the Captain addressed the ship with information on position, weather, port history and other interesting information. For an older ship, built in 2001, the Norwegian Star was very clean and appeared extremely seaworthy. The entertainment was much better than other cruise lines we’ve sailed, and as an added bonus, there were matinee productions every sea day - either a stage show or a movie. Norwegian also provided us many free amenities, e.g., specialty restaurants, $ off shore excursions, etc., just for booking a balcony stateroom.
