We chose this cruise to go with our grandchildren on their first cruise. Having sailed on the Oasis a few years ago, we recommended going on this one because of all the features and entertainment on board. We were not disappointed.
Ship - Fantastic. We never really felt crowded except for maybe the pool areas on sea days.
Cabin- We had outside balcony cabins on Deck 9 and they worked out very nice. We have cruised over 12 times before on various lines and this was the first one that we had with two closets. We had lots of room for storage. The room steward, Keegan Rigby was very attentive and took care of all our needs. We did find it unusual that we had to request robes and bags to send our laundry out. It seems that the policy of RC now is to provide some amenities on an as needed basis.
Dining - We ate at the main dining room every night but one and the food and service were excellent. Our waiter, Mukesh Harhangi was FANTASTIC along with his assistant, Prasenjit Das. Mukesh paid special attention to the kids and made every dinner very enjoyable and fun. We ate at the Hibachi at Izumi one night and the chef was very entertaining and the kids especially loved it since they never experienced it before. The only problem we encountered and it was no fault of the waiters is the process that they have in place for drink orders at dinner. The waiters took the orders and then a drink person brought out the drinks. The problem was that he did not know who got what drink. Ordinarily that is not a problem but when three people all order different types of red or white wine, we had to taste them to see who got which one. I guess they are saving on a sommelier but there is a downside to that process.
Entertainment - All of the entertainment was top notch along with the activities around the ship. We were not bored.
The service was excellent throughout.
The cruise package we purchased included a specialty dinner for two up to $80. If you get something similar, BE SURE to speak directly with Guest Services at the beginning of the cruise as to how to use it. We called them at the beginning of the cruise and we were informed that the package was part of the credits that we also received on our account. We later found out on the last day or so that was incorrect. After explaining all of this to a manager at guest services, he made it right, however, this is something that RC should address with the guests up front to prevent any confusion.
All in all, it is a great ship, lots of things to do, and the service and food were excellent.
Worked out great
We has reservations for Mr Sanchos but it rained that day so we needed to cancel. Ended up shopping at the port which worked out ok.
There were 7 of us and the cabana holds 8. Was well worth the money and the service was excellent.View All undefined undefined Reviews
