My family of 4 including a 14 and 16 year old went on this cruise. We chose this cruise because of the ports Aruba and Curacao. Embarking and disembarking went very smoothly. In and off the ship in no time. This ship was filled to capacity. It had many children and teens. The ship was way too small to accommodate the amount of people on this ship. There was one very small pool on Lido and a very small pool on serenity for 3000 people. We never got in the pool or hot tub because they were always full of children or teens. This cruise is definitely not for someone looking for relaxation! The dining room stayed full. Many nights it took over 2 hours to complete our meal and we missed shows. The service was definitely lacking. Our order was messed up more than once, and the wait times were ridiculous. The staff also seemed very rushed and the dining room was so loud! The food was good as always though! Our cabin was actually bigger than expected. We always get a balcony but this time chose a ocean view room. The room was much more spacious than the balcony rooms especially for 4 people. The beds slept really good also. The only bad thing about the room was the shower did not drain properly, other than that it was ok. We also had another couple that went with us and was a few doors down. Their neighbors children were really loud including crying ALL THE TIME. Carnival was made aware but it continued the whole trip and the option of changing rooms wasn't available because the ship was at full capacity. They said after this ship they would never cruise on Sunshine again. The entertainment was great but you had to get there early or you would be standing. Even though it was great, it was a repeat from a previous cruise so we had already seen it before. The ports were great, no problems noted. Did not do shore excursions. We always take a taxi to whatever we decide to do. Another thing about this boat was it rocked and swayed really really bad for almost the whole cruise. Everyone was complaining about it. I'm not sure if it was the ship or the weather though. They did let us stay in Grand Turk an extra hour because of this though. Our kids loved it but did say there wasn't enough to do. I would go again but definitely not on the Sunshine. The ship is definitely outdated and small.
