Our 15th cruise on NCL. The Panama canal was the highlight. Great day crossing the canal. Despite warnings about safety in Mexico, we had no problems or fears. Both the stop in Cabo, and Acapulco were great. People were welcoming, and in particular, in Acapulco glad to see us. Never had this happen, the mayor of Acapulco greeted passengers returning to the ship, thanking us for coming. I was expressing to shop owners how safe and welcoming we felt, In even was asked to record my thoughts so they could be posted on social media. Glad to have done. I am sure, like any area, there are bad sections, but in the tourist areas, both stops were great. Fear not in going.Costa Rica was all that was expected. Would love to go back. Cartegna, Columbia was hot, but once again, we found the people very friendly, and welcoming. In Grand Cayman, I had been there before, so we rented a car, and explored shore side. Had no problems on any of the ships tours in Columbia, or Mexico. We used Thumbs Up Tours for a 10 in 1 mega tour of Costa Rica. Highly recommend.
Ship service was very good. We have tried the Italian specialty dining on several NCL ships now. To be frank, on all the ships not our favorite, in terms of the menu. Cagney's Steakhouse is the best. The Bistro, Tappenyaki, and the Brazilian style restaurant have very good selection, and excellent service.
NCL has really stepped up the entertainment, at least on this cruise. We had a great variety. A superb hypnotist, Brenda Kaye, who put on three shows. A very funny comedian, great production shows, a classical singer, and a husband and wife team who performed a Cirque like program. Bravo NCL for great entertainment. Big step up.
Well planned room. Ideal for our needs. We like inside cabins for the total darkness for sleeping, and value for the money. Our room steward was very responsive to our few requests. Room kept clean, and good amount of storage. Very noisy neighbors.
We took an independent tour here, which took us to the old town of Granada. Took a lake tour there, and a quick tour around town. Also had lunch there. Only reason for the average rating, is no fault of the tour company, but it was lack of time. Wish we had more time in Granada. Very nice historic old town.
