Cabin: Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

PROS- We booked a forward cabin - 10401 that had a picture window overlooking the bow - tons storage under bed, closet with lots of hangers, under the window seat, night tables, dresser bench that opened for our soiled laundry. The bathroom and shower was perfect size and designed so I could apply makeup without using a mag mirror. It was was a long walk to the forward elevators and the rear of the ship - but with all the food and the beverage package, we needed the exercise. We ate in Cagneys - DELICIOUS!; Tappanyaki - MUY BUENO! The Garden Buffet had lots of choices but have your morning eggs cooked special - the pre-done were always cold. Taste, Savor and Tropicana are terrific. We saw Cirque-WOW! An amazing show and dinner. Million $ Quarter and Burn the Floor also excellent.

CONS- 4,000 people! Ports are designed to capture cruisers so do some research to see what there is to do in port that you can arrange on your own; the BIGGEST CON - DISEMBARKATION - If you were to take your own bags, you could leave as soon as the ship was cleared 8am - There were other designations with times for other passengers. Lack of communication from ships officers, caused a HUGE crowd of people waiting to get off in two common areas for 2 1/2 hours! If there was an emergency, it would have been a disaster. Poor communication, people not reading their info provided, and packing everyone into two areas was uncalled for. We are rethinking any further cruises on a large ship.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin OC

Excellent! Forward overlooking the bow on the ship under the Captain's bridge. Padded window seat with storage under the entire bench, large closet with plenty of hangers, cabinet under TV, night tables and desk area. Bathroom is large and the shower was great with excellent hot water. Small hassock bench opens to be used for a hamper. Drawback is its a bit of a walk to the forward elevators and a long stroll to the stern.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

We took a taxi into the town of Majuhual and did some shopping with the locals and ate a wonderful lunch. The port area is designed to keep people there and not have them experience the local, everyday town and beaches.

Harvest Caye

My husband went ashore to do some metal detecting. His review was "if you were from an area that just got over a miserable winter, it would be heaven." We live in Fla and have lived on the Caribbean so I think we are jaded.

Cozumel

Cozumel is a better port if you want to leave the ship but not take a special excursion. It's walkable with lots of restaurants and shops.
