We chose this ship and itinerary based on past cruise to these destinations and highly recommended ship by travel agent. The ship was extremely broken up, couldn't walk on decks fully due to outside dining areas-which are nice, but not convenient. Upon arrival, checkin was smooth and quick. Moving onto the ship felt like cattle. There was really no "welcome" feeling but mostly move along and go here or go there. More directions than a welcome aboard. I've been on 9 other cruises and this is the first time we were not greeted with a welcome aboard or a drink of the day! The ship itself was very chopped up as far as flow and ease of getting around. All of the restaurants we tried (4) had very slow staff. I have never had such poor service. 20 minutes to get a cup of coffee??? The food was either overcooked or luke warm, not served hot as it should be. The best meals were at the Garden Café: hot food was hot and cold food was cold. The flavor of the food there was better than in the restaurants! I had a flat iron steak there that was absolutely delicious!
Smoking areas on the 4000 passenger ship were always overcrowded. Even if 1/3 of the passengers smoked it was not large enough areas. We enjoyed our shore excursions-ziplining in Roatan, Waterpark in Costa Maya, Fury Catamaran snorkeling in Cozumel. All very well worth the cost.
The cabin light switch situation should be a disclaimer before boarding or heading off to your cabin. I ended up putting a business card in it just to not forget anything and not walking into a dark room at night. It was until the second night that we figured this out.
Our cabin was clean and the cabin steward was very nice and hospitable.
