We really enjoyed this cruise but believe it could be restructured to include more port time. For example, we left Tampa on Monday afternoon, and didn’t arrive in Key West until Wednesday morning—38 hours later. I could have literally biked there quicker. In fact, it felt like the ship was barely moving at times. My suggestion, why not dock Tuesday late afternoon and give guests the opportunity to stay overnight in Key West? Also, it is billed as overnight and 2 days in Havana, Cuba, but we had to be on the ship no later than 6:30am the second day, so that’s not really 2 days in Cuba. The RC cruise experience was wonderful and relaxing but RC changed our ship between the time we booked and sailed, and somehow, also changed our dining preference from My Time to 5:30pm. It took me more than hour to get this resolved on the first night. Another issue that I believe needs to be resolved is the jogging/walking track on Deck 7 which also happens to be a smoking deck on the starboard side. Nothing like doing laps and inhaling/smelling second hand smoke as you go by. Finally, not sure if RC can be held responsible for the delays in the embarkation process in Tampa, but it was horrible. Over 90 minutes standing in line after you stand in the initial line to enter the cruise terminal. All in all, I would recommend this cruise and would consider taking it again, but would like to see more time in port, no smoking on the jogging track, and faster lines embarking in Tampa.

Cabin 3N

Quite small but very clean and updated. RC changed our ship so we went from a large window to a noticeably smaller one. Bathroom was arranged much better than other ships with the shower being on the end so it was enclosed on 3 sides which made it seem “larger” and helped in containing the water. Need more electrical receptacles, 2 just doesn’t cut it when charging phones.

Port Reviews

Key West

Key West is always a good time. No need to take an excursion. Make your way to Duval St (about 2 blocks from port) and make your own fun. You can also rent 4 or 6 passenger golf carts and cruise around the entire island. My advice—rent at the port so you can return it and get right on the ship.
