We chose this cruise as we wanted a comfortable and relaxing way to explore a lot of different cities. We have been on the MSC Sinfonia before, and we immediately felt at home on the Lirica, as they are similar. Our cabin was fantastic - we booked with a balcony and got upgraded to the top floor (thank you MSC!) including a lounge and a bath in the bathroom :) We also chose to purchase the "all inclusive drinks package" and wow, this really saved us a lot of money and meant we could, other than the great drinks and cocktails, have as much water, awesome coffee and ice cream as we wanted! Very friendly and professional staff, it really feels as if you get to know them personally - they remember your drinks order, greet you by name and stop to chat. The entertainment team is a special bunch of people; they have an awesome zest for life and ensure non-stop fun! We absolutely loved the theatre shows, we did not miss one and each one was quite different from the other. We did not get off at every port, as it is also enjoyable to stay on the ship and lounge at the pool, chill in the Jacuzzi, sip on a cocktail, take an afternoon nap - just have a real relaxing time. We alternated having dinner in the sit-down restaurant downstairs, or the buffet upstairs - there really are great options of food for every meal! We did not do any paid excursions, but opted to explore by foot as we are fit and used to travel - a real highlight on this itinerary was Dubrovnik - walking the old city walls was an incredible experience! The embarking and disembarking process was seamless, despite the number of people.

Cabin S3

What makes cabin 12024 amazing is where it is located. We enjoy exercise and in the morning you are right at the circular track for a jog. We always took the stairs everywhere we went and if you go directly 6 flights of stairs down you are at the theatre (the lift landing is very close to your door if you prefer lifts). The cabin is above the pool bar, so you can pop out to fetch a cocktail and enjoy the amazing sunset from your balcony. It is also very close to the pool area where we spent most or our time so it is quick to pop back to the room to fetch something. The restaurants are at the opposite end so it is never noisy. We received an upgrade to this cabin but in future I will pay the extra money and book this floor - there are only a few cabins and it feels very exclusive.

Port Reviews

Dubrovnik

We took the bus into town and walked the walls by ourselves. It was easy as you get dropped just outside the entrance. We paid the fee and did the entire walk in about 1,5 hours. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I highly recommend this (note - lots of stairs to climb!).

Bari

We took the shuttle bus to town and walked the back streets of Bari's old city by ourselves. It is a very beautiful and full of rich culture.

Mykonos

We walked from the ship to town, it is really very close. We did not partake in an organised excursion, but rather took our time to stroll through the little alleys. It was a lovely outing!
