Though the Norwegian Sun is not the newest or largest of the Norwegian fleet, the staff & crew are unfailingly polite and concerned, and seem to want to assure a great cruise. We were upgraded to a penthouse suite with concierge and Butler: great treats in the room, each concern quickly answered, all reservations made, all dining requests fulfilled, priority embarking & disembarking.
Ship had quite a few activities though nothing noteworthy; restaurants even the buffet had above average food.
This cruise had unlimited free adult beverages... for me that meant a free glass of wine at dinner, but some other cruisers seemed to enjoy this feature a little too much, especially the last day (a very rainy day at sea.) If a straw in your drink is important to you, bring from home or a shore excursion: none on ship (not even the little stir sticks.)
Luxurious. Much wood paneling: built in buffet with glassware, espresso machine, mini fridge, shelving. Large bathroom area with separate bath & shower, 3 closet rods, 2 small chests of drawers, robes, slippers, dressing table & stool. Dining table with 2 chairs, large couch & sidechair. Large balcony with 2 chaises, 2 deck chairs & a table. Includes concierge & butler.
Parking is pricey... $85 for 4 days, payable at end if cruise. NCL waiting area pretty institutional.
