I was excited for my first ever cruise and was told over and over again that Norwegian was the best cruise line to sail on. The day after booking I got an email saying that the itinerary changed. i was unable to book shore excursions prior to boarding the ship despite calling many times and having to wait on hold for almost an hour each time. I ended up booking my own excursion and because of that my on board credit wasn't used, there was torrential rain in Nassau the first day. (Nassau was supposed to be the second day) and i had to return my non refundable UTV because it was impossible to drive around in the rain. The next day in Great Stirrup Cay, getting off the ship to the tender boat was an extremely slow process. We had an excursion booked to try to at least use one day of our excursion credit. By the time we got off the boat we would have had one hour to enjoy the beach before having to leave for the excursion. We ultimately cancelled that excursion to at least try to enjoy part of this trip. There should be a separate line for people with booked excursions to get off the boat. We were on the island until 430 so we figured around 330 we would check out the vendor shops etc, but by 330 when we went to go try to shop at them everything was gone and closed up. Even the bar on the beach and the food. so we really have until 330 not 430? Communication is very poor about everything. The food was horrible we had everything from buffet to breakfast in our room to fine dining and the supposedly nicer sit down restaurants included. Ate at Cagney's and ordered dessert and out comes a cold hard brownie that is part of the normal buffet desserts. The fries are the same buffet fries also. for 80 dollars i couldn't understand what i was getting that was different other than someone bringing it to me on a plate. The service was so so, at times good and at times not good. The waiters seemed to be off in space and not know what the other was doing. things were forgotten that were asked for and at times servers just looked miserable and unfriendly. The photographers that were on the ship took pretty lousy photos plus there were no signs as to where they would be other than on deck 5 and even then they didn't stay for the time indicated. The last night i wasn't able to get pictures because they were shut down at 8pm when they were supposed to be there until 9 or 10. some people i noticed had pictures taken of them by a photographer on the beach in the water at stirrup cay, there was no information provided that anyone was around for that even though that's something i would have wanted to take advantage of. when picking up my pictures the morning of departure i waited in line for 30 min to have the cashier tell me my card had been disabled and i had to go to guest service to have them re activate it. so i had to wait in line down there for another 20 minutes also. i needed to put 2 credit cards on the account, one to pay for our "special dinner" and the other to pay for photos. My partner wanted to pay for dinner on his card since it was mothers day, and i was going to use my card to pay for photos. well..the guest service woman refused to take his card because he was not there, despite the fact that his name is clearly on the room and the card, he was in the room packing so we could get off the ship and i was trying to take care of the last minute things so we both weren't standing in lines all day. I ended up having to pay for the dinner and photos on my card so Happy Mother's Day to myself i guess! thanks Norwegian. Overall i was extremely disappointed with this experience and can't say that i will cruise Norwegian again. I will try another cruise line instead. Especially with the last minute change in itinerary and basically ruining our port days. If Nassau had been left as the second day like originally planned everything would have been fine because we would have been able to spend the day enjoying the island. The only thing to do on Stirrup Cay is swim or sit on the beach, I would have rather had the rain day there.

Phone didn't work when we arrived. Had no way of calling anyone to tell them and didn't see a crew member on our deck until the next day. Had to leave a note to room service to replace. There was some weird substance on our balcony, looked like a pile of chocolate ice cream but it wasn't melting. it was gross looking and made me not want to walk on the balcony without shoes on. We needed an iron and when we called for one we had to wait 30 minutes to get it and we missed the show we were planning to go to. Then within 15 minutes someone was back knocking on our door asking if we were done with it yet.
