Friday 11th May. Departure delay due to ‘technical difficulties’ which I have now seen from various forums was experienced by the previous cruise. ‘Sail away’ party abruptly cancelled and finally left Southampton without ceremony at 23:00.

First port (Cadiz) due to be visited on Monday 14th May replaced by Vigo on Sunday at 17:00. Pointless stop for passengers as the port was closed except for a Burger King and street sellers displaying fake designer bags on the pavement 200 yards from the ship. I can only presume the stop was to fix the ship as the captain announced that night “the problem with the thruster has now been resolved”.

The ship was so unsteady from Southampton to Vigo a large majority of passengers were unable to leave their cabins due to severe sea sickness. Myself and daughter included.
