Although our land tours were wonderful our time spent on the ship was not so great. Our balcony had numerous spiders and their webs. When we first asked for the crew to clean the balcony we were told "it can't be helped as the ship docks under trees in some ports".
After a couple of days complaining the crew finally began cleaning the balcony each day. We were unable to enjoy our balcony during cruising for at least 3 of the 7 days.
The meals were not as nice as our previous cruises either. The wait staff were fantastic as always except the staff that supposedly help you at the airport. Unlike our other Viking cruises the staff did not assist our group with checking in for our flights or providing directions to the appropriate counters.
The cabin was well maintained but the balcony was not. Numerous spiders and spider webs. The crew initially said there wasn't anything they could do as the ship docks under trees at some ports. After several days of complaining we could not use the balcony and that was a primary reason we booked that specific stateroom - the crew began cleaning the balcony every day and we were able to use it. However we lost 3 days of the 7 cruising days from enjoying the views along the river from the balcony. We also could not take photos of the landscape as we were able to do on our other Viking cruises for those 3 days.
