We wanted to go to Cuba as we had friends who went previously and said it was very interesting historically, architecturally and culturally. We also had friends going on this cruise. The ship staff was wonderfully helpful and friendly, our cabin was very nice, plenty roomy, with a window view. The Windjammer was our favorite place to eat and the only bad thing I can say is too many luscious desserts I am paying for now! We ate in the main dining room a couple of times and it was good but not over the top, the waiters seemed to have too many tables, it took a while for them to get back to you. We did not do that many shows since we generally were off the ship except when cruising, but saw a great show onboard with a juggler comedian. We also had overcast and rainy weather the whole time - no one's fault -so outdoor activities were somewhat limited on ship.
The Havana day walking tour was terrific and very informative, it was my favorite part of the trip. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Cuba and she gave us a lot of information about the way they live now, the good and the bad. She was very open and interesting and made the trip really special.
We would definitely go back to Cuba, I would have liked a little more time there. This cruise was our 2nd cruise ever and the last one was 20 years ago for 3 days. We liked it far more than we expected, got a little stir crazy the last day of cruising only because the weather was so bad.
The cabin was well set up and plenty large enough for two, a little cramped at the bathroom door but it is a boat. I was very happy with the cabin overall.
