The cost was the first thing that attracted us to this cruise and then the destination gave us a reason to go to see our son and daughter-in-law, who live in England afterwards. We got an inside cabin and tried to keep expenses down. We did not buy the alcohol package, or spa passes and only bought 1 extra meal at the Teppanyaki. Otherwise we ate at the Grand Pacific dining room, the Alizar dining room, Garden Cafe buffet, and the O'Sheenan's pub. There were more than enough choices in any of these venues to eat and the food was very good. Each night there was a theme food at the buffet. The entertainment that we went to see, all of the musicians, were very good. We actually followed Patricia and Charlie, They were our favorites and they mingled with the cruisers and they were fun. We looked forward to them in the evenings. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. You chose your time to arrive at the pier and you wait until it is time to board. Went very well. The disembarkation, we chose to get off at our time and bring one bag. The other bag we had them take off an sitting there waiting for us. Timing was perfect to get to the train to London.
We got the getaway price. Norwegien cruise lines chose our room and did give an upgrade on the inside cabin. It was not a bad room. The two of us could get around in it. We had a place for everything and we kept it that way. The bathroom was rather nice with a big shower with glass doors. The air conditioning was perfect. We liked the room and would go in an inside room again. The only thing is that you do not get any extras with a inside room.
