We took a week long cruise for a family reunion onboard Liberty of the Seas with Royal Caribbean. The ship was a great setup for a wide range of ages as we had(1-70 years old) The splash pad area was perfect for our 4 year old as well as had a place for our 1 year old. The bigger pool gave our older kids (10-13 years) a separate place to hangout and keep cool. They loved the water slides and the freedom the ship offered them. We did not utilize the kids areas or onboard activities available but did visit each area in the first day. We were impressed with the variety of activities offered for each day.
Night 1 we took part in the murder mystery dinner theater, priced a little steep at $80 a plate, we laughed through the whole thing. Very good time was had largely to the cast having great personalities. We had both an interior state room and an ocean view balcony stateroom due to the size of our family. Interior state room was clean and fairly spacious with the set up. The drain was not operating properly in the shower so the bathroom floor flooded. Ocean view balcony room was very nice. Came with two outdoor seats and a small round table. It was really nice to be able to stand out there at various times during the trip. Fun to see us pull into ports and depart from there. Room was clean and the pull out couch we had was great and rather large for our 4 year old to sleep on alone.
Being a family reunion trip we had a large group,30 plus, together for dinner every evening. Our main dining room wait staff was headed by an extremely personable guy. He had wonderful reccomedations for our meal and also would bring us things to share for the whole table often. Coffee supplied at breakfast is horrible. Spring for the premium coffee! We celebrated my daughter’s birthday while onboard. They made a beautiful cake, I paid for it separately, brought it out and sang to her. Very thoughtful and kind people onboard the ship.
