We have cruised twice before on Reflection, both being in the Eastern Mediterranean. We agreed to try a transatlantic cruise as an adventure and for a more relaxing experience than the port-intensive mediterranean itineraries and we weren't disappointed.
As we are UK based, we started our journey with flights from our regional airport (Manchester) to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Miami. Although a delay to our departure from Manchester meant that we did not make the flight we were originally booked on, British Airways sorted this out whilst we were in flight and by the time we reached Heathrow, we had been booked onto the next flight out which was just 50 minutes later.
The flight was excellent with frequent food and drink services, and thanks to booking through Celebrity, it was also extremely good value for money.
Cabin Review
Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1B
This cabin is situated midship on deck 9 starboard and so is conveniently placed between the midship and aft elevators. We chose starboard hoping that we would benefit from sun on our balcony during our eastbound crossing, but the sun turned out to be too high in the sky at this time of year. The beds are massive and are very comfortable. Linen is changed frequently and there is the option to change or keep towels for more than one use. There is plenty of storage and the bathrooms are excellent with shampoo, conditioner body lotion and a lather bar provided. The balcony features two reclining chairs and a table and is an excellent place to relax and watch the waves and/or enjoy the room service which is free between 7am and 11pm.
