  3. Harmony of the Seas
Embarkation was smooth and fast. The Harmony of the Seas is the most amazing ship! It is beautiful and has many neighborhoods to spend time in. Our oceanview balcony cabin and bathroom were clean, well attended, and had plenty of room. Food and service were very good in the main dining rooms as well as the Solarium Bistro, Windjammer Cafe, Park Cafe, Promenade Cafe, and Boardwalk venues. The Solarium was an attractive, quiet, and pleasant mostly-adults space to spend the day on a lounge chair, in a hot tub, or visiting the Bistro. Entertainment was top notch! The shows were amazingly professional, with very talented performers. The Aqua Theatre in the stern is an incredible space, and shows there were highlights of our week. Ice shows and main theatre shows were also wonderful. There wasn't a single show that didn't totally entertain us and leave us very glad we attended. Ports were adequate, but not the main reason to cruise on the Harmony. Our (non-ship arranged) bus tour around Nassau was ok but not the best. The narration could have been more informative, and the 30-minute stop at Atlantis was more puzzling than necessary. Not enough time to do much except a quick walk around and back on the bus. Kind of an advertisement for Atlantis, and wasted our precious time in the port. In St. Thomas, we signed up for the ship excursion called Sapphire Beach Snorkeling and Island Drive. DON'T DO IT! The Sapphire Beach "resort" is embarrassing....run down and neglected. Not because of recent hurricanes; you can tell the building and grounds have been neglected far longer than just a year or two of storms. There is a bar and opportunity for a hot dog or hamburger. We only got our free drink, and chose a bottle of water. The beach sand has semi-buried chunks of concrete here and there, making it a tricky walk, and the large 'stones' along the water's edge make barefoot entry and exit very difficult to do without falling or injury. It is unbelievable that Royal Caribbean would actually bring their customers to this kind of place for an "excursion" when there must be many more adequate properties in much better shape for us to spend two hours at the beach. Want to hear about the Island Drive? Not a single word of narration. Nothing. Our driver took us NOT along the most scenic roads of the island, but down small neighborhood streets, picked up a female friend along the way, dropped her off (at work?), as 24 of us sat there stunned. As we waited at the entrance of the run down Sapphire Beach "resort", our driver was ONE HOUR late picking us up. The trucks came in and out of the entry road with no rhyme or reason and no one managing the process. Finally when ours came, again 24 of us sat with no narration as our driver again picked up his female friend (from work? had we stood waiting an uncomfortable extra hour to accommodate her quitting time?) and again drove us down back neighborhood streets to where he dropped her off. Really? We paid for him to give us no narration and to take his friend to and from her destination. Incredible. When we complained to the Guest Services desk, we ended up getting 20% off our excursion. Not enough, but a token that was appreciated nonetheless. In St. Kitts, we did the Caribbean Rail and Sail excursion. In contrast to the excursion in St. Thomas, we have no regrets about doing this one in St. Kitts. The catamaran sail in the morning was pleasant and smooth, the crew members were polite and informative, and we were served snacks and drinks along the way. After the sail, we were promptly picked up and taken to the railway. It was a very pleasant and well-narrated 18-mile ride on the train. Our hostess Carla was excellent. Drinks were served on the train, and a 3-person choir sang for us. Scenic, relaxing, and informative. Definitely do this excursion if you have the opportunity. We absolutely love Harmony of the Seas. If there were no ports at all, there is plenty to do on board. One regret with the onboard experience is the lack of any 'intellectual' presentations or talks during any of the days, at sea or in port.

Wonderful tour around the island. Narration by Carla was excellent, drinks were served, and a small choir entertained us along the way. Great!

Run down and neglected "resort" was embarrassing as soon as we entered the parking lot. Not storm damage, just decades of neglect. The shoreline was treacherous with stones that made barefoot entry and exit very tricky and prone to falling/injury. Driver was an hour late picking us up and gave us not even one word of narration.
