We chose this cruise so we could travel to Havana. The NCL Sky is one of their oldest ships, so to make up for that it is all-inclusive. Only the water had a charge, although some premium drinks had an up charge. We left from Miami after waiting only an hour or so from start to finish for Embarkation. We ate in the Dining Room as most Buffets are packed the first day. The cabins were available after 130 or so. We sailed at 4 after a muster drill. There was never a wait in either of the 2 Dinng Rooms, and breakfast was usually outside in the Terrace Cafe. Our first stop was Havana, where the ship was berthed at the central pier. NCL provides the Visas needed to enter Cuba and they were attached to our passports, making the process of going through Passport Control very easy. The money exchange area is at the pier, bring Euros to exchange for the best rate. We used Alain Baez as our guide. He was so informative and very friendly. His email address is Alain.baez@nauta.cu, get in touch with him for a terrific tour, which includes a ride in one of the old cars. Also, bring water! The next day was our day at sea which was spent under blue skies. We rented a clamshell at Great Stirrup Cay, which is a good idea as the sun is bright there and very little shade. The Sky had entertainment for all age groups, from guitar to Piano to Reggae to a singing group that could play great dance music. Everyone seemed to enjoy the entertainment, helped along by free drinks and terrific weather.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

Cabin OJ

The cabin was very small and this is one of the oldest ships in this line, but it was adequate for 2 on a 4 night cruise. There was a sofa bed for a third, but how that would work we had no idea! Kept very clean and towel animals at night!

Port Reviews

Havana

We hired a private guide who provided us a ride in one of the old cars along with his walking tour. We felt that he included everything we wanted to see, and took us to a private restaurant . It seemed like we walked from one end of Havana to the other. Wear comfortable shoes, as the streets are old cobblestone and have many potholes! Get in touch with Alainvaradero@gmail.com for a personalized tour of the sights you want to see.

Great Stirrup Cay

We rented a clamshell as it guaranteed us a spot on the beach and provided shade. There was a taco stand where we ate lunch and a Tequila Bar nearby for drinks. My husband brought his own snorkel, but you could rent them right on the beach.
