Background Information: I was traveling with my DH and 21 other family and friends via a chartered bus from Tallahassee, FL. We left at midnight the morning of embarkation. We had a smooth ride all the way down having to stop several times for the driver's mandatory rest breaks and once on the turnpike to pick up a fellow traveler.

January 3, 2010 - Day 1 Embarkation We arrived in Miami about 8:15 with plenty of time to spare. We thought that we would kill time by stopping at a Cracker Barrel type restaurant for a relaxing breakfast since we could not board until 11:30. After driving around aimlessly for several minutes and ending up in a seedy part of town, the driver decided to just head to the port. Of course we still had time to kill, but we were met by porters who took our bags anyway. We tipped them well and decided to see what was happening in Bayside. We found Mambo's opened and serving a buffet breakfast, so we ate and window shopped until about 10:45. We made it to the port at 11:00, breezed through check-in and were waiting for our zone to be called by 11:30. We took a few pictures in the terminal, were called for boarding, went to guest services to add cash for the sail and sign and were at the Fish and Chips station by 12:05.

After lunch we wondered around the ship taking pictures and trying to establish the lay of the land. We wondered until we looked at our watches and realized how fast the time was going. It was now time to go check out our room. The room was everything that we remembered about the balcony staterooms. Very roomy for the two of us, plenty of storage and walking space, and very comfy and cozy. We relaxed for awhile and checked out those who were still boarding and the view of Miami while still docked. After awhile we went down to the Platinum dining room to find our table. We were at a table for 6 next to a window, boy was I surprised. Because of our late seating however, we did not have much of a view. Oh well...

Great location. Loved the balcony. Hallway was quiet.
