We are a middle-aged couple who has been on more than a dozen cruises in various parts of the world. This cruise rates as just okay. I wish Norwegian had more competition to inspire them to do better.
The check-in and boarding process took 45 minutes. We were not allowed in our room until about 3pm, and our luggage arrived just before we left for dinner. The oceanview room was decent, but there was no comfortable place to sit (just one stool by the vanity). The bed was comfortable, but it was awkward to get in and out of it due to the pull-down bunks on each side. There was plenty of storage space in the room, but just a little storage space in the bathroom. The bathroom was poorly designed, with very little counter space and the smallest shower we've ever seen on a ship--it barely fits a small person, and my husband is over 6 feet tall. The shower head worked decently, however. The bathroom was well lit, but the vanity area was poorly lit. The blow dryer at the vanity was very heavy and hard to handle. One night our toilet stopped working, and so did our neighbor's. It was fixed the next morning.
The buffet was disappointing. It was always crowded and we had trouble finding seats. The buffet food was mediocre. The dining room food was very good, and we had excellent service there. We also had a fantastic steak dinner at Cagney's one night.
