My girlfriend, who had been on a cruise before, wanted to treat me to a cruise for my birthday, so we decided that we wanted something relaxing. the ms Eurodam was exactly what we were looking for and more. There were plenty of opportunities to relax, and just enough high energy environments to not overpower the overall feel of the ship. We went to few trivia events, had dinner at the Pinnacle Grill, the Tamarind, and The Diner, and tried the buffet a few times.
We sunbathed by the pool (it was 84 degrees in Vancouver B.C.!), danced at BB King's All stars, and watched dueling pianos. We honestly drank far too much a couple times, but a quick call for room service provided us with some food and juice to help prevent hangovers. Our cruise through the passage wound up changing to a cruise up and back down the passage, with a detour through a route the ship had not been on before, which provided a brief view of whales and stunning views of the Inner Passage.
I would absolutely recommend this cruise to anyone looking to try out cruising for the first time, or anyone who is just looking for a quick cruise out of Seattle. The crew was amazing, our room attendants always remembered our names (even when we were boarding after Vancouver, our room attendant was going ashore and addressed us by name), the assistant cruise director (goes by the nickname Faz) took time out of his day to sit with us for approximately 40 minutes just to chat because we had a lot of different questions, and he never seemed irritated to be there.
The room was very spacious, the bed was just two twin beds pushed together, however that was hardly even noticeable. Our room was aft on the 8th floor, and had AMAZING views the entire cruise. At night, you can feel the engines, however the vibration was almost trance-like and only aided in the sleep.
Walked downtown, wound up at a restaurant at the opposite side of the marina eating halibut and chips with drinks. Even if you don't book an excursion, it's a beautiful city to walk through.
