I had an excellent experience on a Viking Rhine River cruise and highly respect the total Viking experience. We also like the idea of a small ship for ocean cruising. The ship was beautiful and the crew was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Booking the cruise was also easy as was booking the air flight. I got sick and the medical crew were attentive and took care of me until I felt better. The only thing we were disappointed in were some of the included tours. The river cruise was very short. The botanical garden was interesting but so crowded with tourists in a limited area. We really enjoyed the Panama Canal experience. Unfortunately the weather was such that we could not dock in Jamaica or Grand Cayman so we had extra days at sea which of course is not Viking's fault, but still disappointing. We were able to stop in Nassau which was a nice stop. We did get a $250 credit for a future trip in the following year. We would certainly take another ocean or river cruise with Viking and have recommended Viking to others.
