We chose this cruise because it departs and returns to San Francisco. The ship is nice enough the shocker was the midship staircase remained locked from the 7th deck up for crew/emergency access only which was a major inconvenience especially since our cabin is midship. Our inside cabin was clean and we had the best cabin attendant of the 15 Princess cruises we've been on. This was the first ship to have a plastic toilet cover which echoes the vacuum flushing sound. Subsequently, you can hear people flushing their toilet. We had a wonderful wait staff in the dining room. The food quality was pretty good until the lobster night. The lobster tails didn't taste cooked and they were served on top of a gummy paste of some sort. It was the worst meal we had since been onboard the ship. Why wasn't there any Destination Presentation on the ports of call?? The tender port, Santa Barbara, was very disappointing. We waited 90 minutes to get on the tender and ended up not finding anything worth seeing in town. Will make sure we don't come back on the Grand Princess again.

Won't be back on this one.

Cabin Review

Interior
Cabin IA B411
Plastic toilet cover that echoes and magnifies the flushing sound. The closet is half the normal size of an interior cabin. There are plenty of shelf space.

We have the best stateroom attendant. He was very professional and courteous.
