Our trip involved me (59 y/o), my early - thirties son, daughter, and daughter-in-law. This trip was intentionally purchased with part of my parent’s inheritance. Wanted to see Alaskan wilderness with my adult kids, so picked the last Alaskan cruise of the year. (I had a fantasy that I might catch the northern lights - didn't happen.) The weather was great - only rained one day.
The sea was pretty rough a couple of days, and I had some issues with vertigo from it - my own fault - I thought my OTC drugs would be enough. DIL got the patch for her seasickness and had no trouble at all.
Embarkation and disembarkation were incredibly fast - but that was probably due to my disability status. They did let the other 3 folks in our party go with me through the fast handicap lines.
Daughter & I had an aft-facing verandah cabin; son and DIL had an interior cabin in same general area, but far enough so there was no risk of overhearing any marital experiences. Both rooms were great. Plenty of storage. Comfortable beds. Saw whales and glaciers from the balcony. Both rooms were very nice, and staff was incredibly attentive throughout.
Tip: We brought magnet hooks and one of those shoe holders that you put on a door. Hung it on the bathroom door and used it to sort all of the little things - medicines, makeup, hair products, etc.
Incredible views! It was raining, so I didn't take photos, but the pictures in my mind - will always remember that light blue ice breaking away.h
