I wanted to see the new built for America MSC Seaside. The ship is indeed a beautiful ship but it still has a strong Europe décor theme. I guess they did it this way in case things don't go as planned sailing from American ports. Also the cruise was priced at almost half of what my sister and I expected to pay on a new ship. My only complaint about the layout of the ship had to do with public restrooms, too few stalls per women's restroom. All those people with only 3 stalls in most restrooms.

The food was standard cruise fare. It was not as bad as I had imagined based on previous reviews I had read on other travel websites. The offerings were a bit repetitious but the flavor was OK.

The week my sister and I sailed the crew was very good and polite. It was almost as if they had gone through some kind of cultural enrichment training. I enjoyed engaging with the guy who monitored the gym in early morning and a young lady who worked in the Marketplace Buffet. Both are from South Africa. Read more
