We choose this cruise because we lihave always went on Carnival , so we thought we would try Norweigen. The Gem was very easy to navigate and the staff was very helpful. We loved the staff , they were incredible! The food in the buffet was great for breakfast. The lunch and dinner buffet was gross. They had a poolside barbecue that was phenomenal. I only gave the cruise 3 stars because my teenage son was bored. He was looking forward to playing video games in the teen program. They didn't have a video game system in the teen program. They advertised it on the norweigen website. It says they have a wii and PlayStation and they didn't have either. My son has great memories of playing video game tournaments with other teenagers on our past Carnival cruises. We I asked guest services about this, she gave me an attitude and was judgemental she said we want the kids to do other things on the cruise. She also said that they sometimes have WII activities on this floor. This was only in the morning and was a bunch of very young children playing. My son made friends on Carnival from playing the video games with them in the teen program. They would go together to have pizza on the Carnival ships. The pizza in the Norweigen Gem's buffet was horrible! Besides guest services the other staff members treated us like royalty. My husband and I loved the 70's show and the comedian. My son had to come with us and was bored. So I give the cruise on the Gem 3 stars because you know the saying, " You are only as happy as your least happy child."
