Let me start by saying the worst cruise is still better than your best day at work and we firmly belive there is no such thing as a terrible cruise. However, with that being said, we felt it was worthwhile to advise anyone who was considering the Caribbean Princess for their next sailing of our recent experiences. This was our seventh cruise in the past few years and our first on Princess. We have recently cruised on Carnival, RCL, NCL, and Celebrity - so we feel we have a well rounded base from which to compare.

Embarkation:

What a fiasco!! To no fault of Princess the Fort Lauderdale terminal had lost power over Friday evening and consequently, the disembarkation of the previous Caribbean Princess (CP) voyage was delayed by many hours. After nearly three hours standing in line in nearly 95 degree weather, along with 3,100 of our closest friends it was quite obvious that Princess had no back up plan in the event power was lost. However, sometime after 2:00pm we finally made it onboard. Due to the power failure, the last passengers were boarded well after 5:00pm and we finally departed for St. Thomas close to 6:30pm.
